2018 Arryman Symposium

An audience of students, academics and intellectuals gathered for the 6th Annual Arryman Symposium, hosted by the Indonesian Scholarship and Research Support Foundation (ISRSF).

Each year the symposium showcases the research and accomplishments of the program’s Arryman Fellows – talented young Indonesians who are studying at Northwestern University for their doctorates in the social sciences.

The main event of the day is the presentation from Arryman Fellows. This year four doctoral students, Perdana Putri, Muhammad Ridha, Sofyan Ansori and Robie Kholillurahman, presented papers on Anthropology, Sociology and Political Sciences topic. Sofyan Ansori

The event was opened with opening remarks by Professor Jeffrey Winters, Chairman Board of Trustees ISRSF,  and Ms. Heidy Arbuckle, Program Officer of the Ford Foundation, which is a major financial supporter of ISRSF and the symposium.

After the symposium, as usual we introduce the 2018 Arryman Fellows to the Audiences. We recruit 6 Arryman Fellows, 5 Fellows departed on July 2018 and 1 Fellows will depart on July 2019. These will be the last Fellows recruit for the Arryman Program. We also introduce and gave Prizes to the 2017 ISRSF Essay Competition winners, The 2017 ISRSF Book Essay was launch and give to all Symposium participants.

The Arrymans Symposium will be held every year in Jakarta, we will inform the date in ISRSF Social Media.
